Users can already send disappearing messages in WhatsApp which includes only text messages, and now the messaging platform is bringing the ability to send disappearing media as well. So, with the latest update, you will be able to send the self-destructing media on WhatsApp. The feature is being tested for both Android and iOS and soon it will be rolled out for users. However, before that, let’s take a look at how you can send disappearing photos on WhatsApp. Also, read | How to Send Auto Delete Messages in All Chats on Telegram
Send Disappearing Photos on WhatsApp
WaBetaInfo has reported this new feature and shared the screenshots on Twitter. The screenshots shared by the publication show how a photo will disappear once the receiver sees it and leaves the chat. Here’s how one can send a disappearing photo on WhatsApp:
- Open chat and choose a photo from the gallery after tapping on the attachment icon.
- Once selected the photo, tap on the clock-like icon near the “Add a caption” bar.
- You can then send the photo. It will show a notification to the receiver that it will disappear once he/she leaves the chat. WaBetaInfo also reports that you won’t be able to save disappearing photos. So users won’t see the option to save such photos in their gallery. They won’t even be able to forward these photos to other contacts. The company, however, hasn’t yet mentioned anything about the screenshot detection feature for disappearing photos. The disappearing photos in WhatsApp work just like Instagram’s vanish mode which also lets you send self-destructing photos and videos via DM. After your contact opens a disappearing media you’ve sent them on Insta DM, it is no longer visible in their inbox. There you also get an option to allow your contacts for a replay of your message. WhatsApp will roll out the disappearing photos feature for both iOS and Android users very soon. For more such WhatsApp tips and tricks, stay tuned!
