Update(10-9-2014): Apple has changed the date to October 17 now Apple unveiled its latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus tonight and both of these devices will go on sale starting September 19. The good news for Apple fans in India is that this time Apple will launch the new iPhones in India just one week later on September 26!
The release date is mentioned on Apples official India website. Last year, iPhone 5s and 5c arrived about 2 months late in India, and their timely arrival this time signifies that Apple is willing to take Indian market more seriously. The new iPhone 6 and 6 plus feature Retina HD displays, with resolution of 1334×750 for the 4.7 inch variant and 1920×1080 pixels for the 5.5 inch variant, and ion strengthened glass. On the whole, it is stated that the new iPhone displays pack in 185 percent increased pixels than the previous generation model.
The new iPhones will be powered by 25 percent A8 chipset assisted by M8 co-processor. The new chipset has 25 percent faster CPU, 50 percent faster GPU and is twice as energy efficient when compared to last generation A7. Imaging hardware includes 8 MP iSight camera at its back with three times faster phase detection auto focus, f/2.2 aperture. This sensor is claimed to be capable of capturing 43 MP panoramas, FHD 1080p video recording and Slo-mo video recording at 120 fps and 240 fps. The iPhone 6 Plus features optical stabilization, whereas the 4.7 inch model relies on digital stabilization. Also, there is new 1.2 MP FaceTime at the front with f/2.2 aperture and a new sensor. Both smartphones will be available in Space Grey, Gold and Silver color options and we will know the India price on 26th September, when Apple makes the new iPhones Official in India.
