With this kind of aggressive pricing, it is quite evident that they will sell in galaxies. In fact, Micromax aims to sell around 5 to 6 million units of the Bharat 1 and Bharat 2 in India within the next five to six months. This may bring back the company its lost glory. Lately, Micromax has been rapidly losing its market share to various Chinese brands. The Bharat duo is the company’s desperate attempt to regain its position in the Indian market. As of now, there is not much to tell about the specifications of Micromax Bharat 1 and Bharat 2. The company has remained completely tight-lipped about those. What we know is that the Bharat 1 feature phone is going to run a Java-based operating system and come with minimalistic yet decent internals. On the other hand, Micromax Bharat 2 will reportedly be a Google-approved Android smartphone. However, some rumors suggest that it may run a Java-based OS instead of full-fledged Android. Nevertheless, both the devices will almost certainly disrupt the ever expanding Indian mobile industry. Micromax is not alone in the price race. Companies like Karbonn, Intex, Lava and most importantly Reliance Jio’s LYF already have low-cost devices or planning to launch some. Reliance Jio has indeed pushed the Indian phone industry towards an interesting phase.
